Question: I have inquiry about Going Back to Iran. I am an Iranian girl who lived in Canada for more than 20 years.
My family and I have never been back, but I would like to take my mother to see her family before all my mothers family are old.
I am not sure what the rules and restrictions are for permission to return to the country.
We are Canadian citizens, but I think we still have Iranian citizenship (I think we can go to the embassy to get an Iranian visa or a passport? I’m not sure how it works)
Any help is accepted!
Answer: For sure there is no problem for your return to Iran, even though you want to live there for your whole life! You need to refer to Iran embassy to collect your passport and then you can fly to Iran.
Iran and Canada have had no formal diplomatic relations since 2012 so for consular and passport services you need to refer to other Iran embassies. The nearest one is the Iranian interest section in Washington DC.
